Cohesion has five bands. First is 0-39%, it is little or no linking words to link the different sentences or paragraphs. Second is 40-49%, this mean the linking words lead to confusion and lack of linking words. The third band is 50-59%, the reader need research resource to understand the meaning that is almost right linking words to easy follow. 60-69% is the fourth band, the reader can understand that the essay or report has good logical progression to use the right linking words. The last band is 70-100%, this is easy to read for the reader and it has convincingly written. It uses the right or effective linking words or sentences.
About the cogency, from 0 to 39 percent, the reader will be unbelievable for the argument. From 40 to 49 percent, the reader may get some good argument, but it is weakness and unbelievable. From 50 to 59 percent, the reader will get most believable argument, but they may also get some weakness. From 60 to 69 percent, the reader will get all the argument which is believable, and there are not any weakness. From 70 to 100 percent, that mean the reader will get all the believable argument and all of them have the detials to let the readers trust it.
Use of source material: 1.No or few references, wrong format;2.Having some references but not consistent and some using own language;3.Own words in refernces, it's a bit of similar to original one;4.Using source material correctly and effectively;5.Using perfectly and everything is appropriate.
Structure. From 0-39%: there are no introduction or conclusion. From 40%-49%: the introduction, conclusion and some paragraphs are short or long. From 50%-59%: some paragraphs are not fully developed. From 60%-69%: the introduction, conclusion and paragraphs are well. From 70%-100%: the introduction, conclusion and paragraphs are very good and fully developed.

For this 6 Essay Marking Points,after my deliberation,it can be summarized into a word"RACCSS",viz,relevance;accuracy;cogency;coherence;structure;source material.1.Relevance which means to the point,juste-milieu,no intimist and personal emotion.It is a conventionality in academic essaies,(actually i think it sometimes rationalistic).2.accuracy means not just correct but exactitude,also means the proficient utilization of accurate vocabularies & sentences & terminologies.3.Cogency,in my opinion it means to persuade others let them to agree & convince your opinion using rational demonstrations & evidences.4.coherence,in one word,logic,the content must rigour & methodic,could make sense and convincing.5.In terms of structure,i think it closely related to the coherence,incompact structure cannot make the essay methodical ,consistent & cogent.The structure should be formal and internal logic.LOGIC.6.Source material means no plagiarism,no copy,no Wikipedia.The library is our unparalleled choice.
